Traffic clogging up the motorway Noise pollution on the M40 motorway
Our problem

We need a better road for everyone on it - and we need it now

The M40 Chilterns Environmental Group was formed to see what can be done about the terrible environmental impact of the M40, particularly in the Chilterns and South Oxfordshire.

We have the support of 15 Councils and Village Associations along a 32 km (20 mile) stretch of the M40 between Loudwater (JN 3) and Milton Common (JT 7).

We represent 25,000 people who live within 500 metres of this motorway and who suffer from its effects both night and day.
